All wars produce casualties – destroyed lives and truth. From the beginning of the Iraq war, the great spin from the Bush Administration has been and remains: ‘Only the Enemy Suffers Casualties.’ The most obvious example of that intent was the closing of the Dover Air Force Base to the press. ‘Let no-one see the rows of flag-draped coffins that will be shipped to grieving families.’ Herein are a few of those families that have had to endure the bitter truth and the intolerable loss of war. Everywhere, families, friends and strangers gather with love – to give honor, comfort, hope and hopefully, the strength to survive.
