Las Mordidas  is one of several projects I have done dealing with the feminization of poverty. It is an extension of an earlier installation titled, Fibra y Furia: Exploitation is in Vogue, that was exhibited in 1999 – 2003 about the same topic, the women of Juárez.  While that installation was going up, the story broke, of a child maquiladora worker who survived the brutal sexual assault and was able to identify her attacker, a bus driver who was supposed to deliver her home. The maquiladora then attempted to sue her because she was underage when she went to work for them.
